Keeping healthy during the seasons can be supported through immune boosting
nutrients during the winter, and help with allergies over the summer months. A well-
functioning immune system is key to providing good defence against pathogenic
organisms. Also providing a tolerance to non-threatening organisms, to food
components and to self. Undernutrition decreases immune defences, making an
individual more susceptible to infection.
